Dear Students, Parents, Staff, and Members of the Milltown Community,

As we enter the season of Thanksgiving, a time centered on gratitude, reflection, and the importance of family, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to all of you for the warm welcome you have extended to me since my arrival in September. In just a few short months, you have made me feel like part of the fabric of this remarkable community, and I am sincerely grateful for the kindness and support I have received from every corner of Milltown.

To our students, thank you for allowing me to be part of your school experience and for welcoming “Dr. W” into your classrooms, your activities, and your celebrations. Whether cheering at sporting events, enjoying the Halloween Parades, or joining in the Haunted River Walk, each moment with you has reminded me how fortunate I am to serve a community filled with such energy, pride, and spirit. To our teachers, thank you for inviting me into your professional world through observations and individual conversations. I have truly appreciated your openness, your thoughtful reflections, and your unwavering dedication to the children of this district. Your professionalism and passion are evident every day, and I look forward to the continued collaboration that strengthens our schools.

To our parents and families, thank you for welcoming me so warmly at PTO functions and community gatherings. Milltown’s commitment to its children is unmistakable, and your kindness has made this transition incredibly positive. Your partnership and engagement are vital to our shared success. I am equally grateful to the Board of Education for granting me the privilege of leading this district and for the trust, support, and leadership you have provided throughout my first three months. Your commitment to the students and staff of Milltown reflects the very best of public service.

I also want to thank our administrative team for their exceptional collaboration and steady leadership. Their willingness to guide me through every facet of this transition has been invaluable, and I am grateful to work alongside such a dedicated and talented group of professionals. Finally, I would like to extend a special note of thanks to my Administrative Assistant, Mrs. Joanne Hagerty. Joanne’s unwavering support, professionalism, and friendship have played a central role in my smooth transition into the district. As she prepares for her well-deserved retirement, I wish her nothing but happiness and fulfillment in the years ahead. Milltown is truly a better place because of her remarkable service.

As we approach Thanksgiving, I am reminded daily of how fortunate I am to be part of a community that feels like family. Thank you for your trust, your partnership, and your continued commitment to our schools. I look forward to the months ahead as we work together to create an environment where every child can thrive.

With gratitude,

Steve
