Communication

Communication is key to all of our daily interactions with others.  While face to face, verbal interactions are what we picture in our minds when we talk about communicating with others, there are so many other ways to express our thoughts and feelings.  With the improvements in technology, we can now text, email and send messages through our computers.  We can use aided communication in the form of sign language and various types of augmentative communication.  Body language and gestures are another way to get our thoughts out.  My job as a Speech Language Specialist is to help our students be able to communicate effectively with their families, peers and teachers, as well as the people in the world around them.
